Military Award Correspondence

4-19-05

Dear Mr. Wood,
I received the General Society of the War of 1812 award at our NROTC Presidential Review last weekend and wanted to thank you for it. My award was presented by our CO CAPT Dubberly in your place. I am an enlisted Sgt. in the Marine Corps who was selected for the officer program and flown out of Iraq in 2003. I have received multiple military awards prior to my attending Miami University, but this award meant just as much to me as any other because it was for academics. It's nice to put the "jar-head" reputation to rest with good grades and hard work. That is why I am an engineering major, to show people just what Marines can do. So thank you very much for acknowledging my accomplishments with an award.

Michael Wade
Sgt. USMC
